Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Alffi ("we", "our", or "us") is a farm management app for iOS developed by Farmers Friend App Pty Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Alffi app and related services.

By using Alffi, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you enable cloud sync, we collect:

• Name and email address — provided when you sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password

This information is used to create your account, identify you within your farm team, and send important account notifications (such as data export links if you cancel your subscription).

2.2 Farm Data

The core purpose of the app is to store and manage your farm information. This includes:

• Enterprise and property details
• Areas (paddocks, blocks) and their boundary markers
• Tasks, task comments, and time entries
• Field operation plans and execution history
• Irrigation settings, logs, and run data
• Equipment: machinery, attachments, sprayers, and spreaders
• Product catalogue and application records
• Stock counts and saleyard batch data
• Guidance configurations and patterns

All farm data is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, it is also stored in our cloud infrastructure to enable multi-device access and team collaboration.

2.3 Location Data

Alffi uses your device's GPS to provide:

• Property and area boundary mapping
• Marker placement on paddock corners and features
• GPS guidance during field operations (spraying, spreading, mowing)
• Coverage tracking and execution history maps

Location data is stored with your farm data (locally and in the cloud if sync is enabled). Your location is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

2.4 Photos

The app accesses your camera and photo library for:

• Alffi stock counting — photos of livestock are sent to our Alffi service for analysis (head count, weight, and value estimates)
• Task documentation — photos attached to tasks for record-keeping

Photos used for Alffi analysis are processed and not retained by the Alffi service after analysis is complete. Task photos may be stored in Firebase Storage if cloud sync is enabled.

2.5 Contact Data

When assigning tasks to people outside your farm team, you may choose to select a contact from your device's address book. We use Apple's system contact picker, which means:

• Only the contact you explicitly select is accessed
• We store only the selected contact's name, phone number, and email address with the task assignment
• Your address book is never bulk-read, queried, or uploaded
• No persistent link back to your address book is maintained

2.6 Apple Reminders

If you choose to enable Reminders integration in Settings, the app can create reminders in Apple Reminders for your farm tasks. This requires your permission, which you can grant or revoke at any time in your device's Settings.

• Reminders are created only for tasks you explicitly choose to sync
• We never read, modify, or delete your existing reminders
• Reminder data stays on your device and in your iCloud account — it is not sent to our servers

2.7 Purchase Information

Subscription and Alffi credit purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive:

• Your subscription tier (Entry or Pro) and renewal status
• Alffi credit balance

We do not receive or store your payment details (credit card, bank account, etc.). All payment processing is handled by Apple.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the Alffi app. Specifically:

• App functionality — storing farm data, syncing across devices, enabling team collaboration
• Account management — authentication, subscription management, team invitations
• GPS guidance — providing real-time field navigation during operations
• Alffi analysis — processing livestock photos for counting and valuation
• Compliance reporting — generating spray logs, operation records, and other reports from your data
• Data export — providing you with a copy of your data if you cancel your subscription

We never sell, rent, or share your personal or farm data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

All farm data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data remains on your device and is accessible even without an internet connection or active subscription.

4.2 Cloud Storage

When cloud sync is enabled, your data is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure (Firestore for structured data, Firebase Storage for files). All data is:

• Encrypted in transit using TLS
• Encrypted at rest using Firebase's server-side encryption
• Scoped to your enterprise — your data is isolated and not accessible to other users outside your team

4.3 Authentication

We use Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. You can authenticate using:

• Google Sign-In
• Sign in with Apple
• Email and password

Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text.

Alffi uses the following third-party services:

6. Data Retention and Deletion

6.1 Active Subscription

While your subscription is active, your data is stored locally on your device and synced to our cloud servers.

6.2 Subscription Cancellation

If you cancel your subscription, the following timeline applies:

1. Days 1-7 (Grace Period) — Full access continues. A renewal banner is shown in the app.
2. After 7 days — Cloud sync pauses. Your data remains safe on your device and the app continues to work locally.
3. Within 30 days of grace period ending — We email you a complete JSON export of your farm data (excluding images) so you have a copy.
4. 30 days after grace period — Your data is permanently deleted from our servers.

Your local app data is never deleted by us, regardless of subscription status. If you re-subscribe before the 30-day deletion window, your server data is preserved and sync resumes.

6.3 Account Deletion

You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated server data by contacting us at support@alffi.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Alffi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@alffi.com.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — All your farm data is visible within the app at all times
• Export your data — Compliance reports can be exported from within the app. A full JSON data export is provided if your subscription ends.
• Delete your data — Contact us to request deletion of your server data. Local data can be removed by deleting the app.
• Withdraw consent — You can disable cloud sync at any time in Settings, or revoke location and camera permissions in your device's Settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated through app updates and noted with a revised effective date on this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
