Get the help you need to make the most of Alffi
When you first open Alffi, tap Create New Farm. Enter your Farm Name (your business name) and Property Name (your first property, e.g. “Home Farm”), then tap Create Farm. This sets up your Enterprise and first Property in one step.
Joining an existing farm? Tap Join Existing Farm instead and sign in with the Apple ID that matches your invitation email.
The Home screen shows a Property Summary Card, a Property Selector to switch between properties, and six navigation cards: Tasks, Field Operations, Irrigation, Stock, Map, and Equipment. Subscribers with cloud sync will also see the Alffi™ logo in the toolbar — tap it to learn what Alffi can do.
Use the property picker below the summary card to choose the property you want to work on. Everything you see — map markers, tasks, irrigation logs, stock counts, and field operations — is filtered to the active property. Equipment and products are shared across all properties.
When you download Alffi, you'll subscribe to get started. Entry ($10/mo) gives you all core features on a single device. Upgrade to Pro ($24.99/mo) for cloud sync across devices, Alffi™ AI capabilities, up to 3 properties, and 10 team members. For cloud sync, go to Settings → Enable Cloud Sync and sign in with Apple, Google, or email and password. Once subscribed to Pro, invite members from Settings → Team Members. Any data you created before signing in uploads automatically.
Alffi™ (Artificial Intelligence for Alffi Insight) is the AI engine available with a Pro subscription. Use it for crop assessment, product label scanning, livestock counting, liveweight estimation, and stock valuation — each costing 1 credit. Credits are shared across your team and can be purchased from Stock → Credits.
Use the Map to mark paddock boundaries and key locations. Add your Equipment — machinery, sprayers, and spreaders with calibration settings. Review Settings (gear icon) to configure units of measurement, water allocation, and season dates.
Data syncs automatically when you're connected to the internet. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices and that cloud sync is enabled in Settings.
To manually trigger a sync, pull down on most list views to refresh.
Follow these steps:
Any data you created before signing in will automatically upload to the cloud. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the App Store.
Yes! Alffi works fully offline. All your data is stored locally on your device. When you reconnect to the internet, changes will sync automatically to the cloud and other devices.
Go to Irrigation > Calendar or use the Scheduling Wizard. The app uses Plant Available Water (PAW) calculations based on your soil type, crop, and weather conditions to recommend optimal irrigation timing.
You'll need to set up irrigation runs first by marking valve and target locations on your map.
Go to Settings > Team Members > Add Member. Enter their email address and they'll receive an invitation. Once they download the app and sign in, they'll have access to your enterprise data.
Note: Adding team members requires a Pro subscription.
From the Home screen, tap Field Operations then Create New. The wizard walks you through each step:
Make sure your sprayer or spreader is mounted to a tractor (Equipment → Mount Status) and calibrated before you begin.
Tip: Not sure which products to use? Tap the Alffi™ Crop Advisor card in Field Operations to photograph affected crops and get AI-powered pest and disease identification with product recommendations.
Go to Equipment > Sprayers > Select a sprayer > Nozzle Chart > Manage Chart. You can import a JSON file with your manufacturer's nozzle data, or use the built-in Teejet XR defaults.
The Format Info button shows the required JSON structure for custom imports.
Go to Irrigation > Reports > Compliance Report. Select the date range and the report will show all irrigation activities with water usage, suitable for water authority reporting.
You can export reports as PDF, CSV, or email them directly.
Alffi requires iOS 18.0 or later. It works on iPhone and iPad. The app is optimised for iPhone but fully functional on iPad with a larger display.
Yes, but GPS accuracy depends on which iPad model you have:
iPad WiFi + Cellular models have a built-in GPS chip and will provide accurate location for field operations, guidance lines, and coverage tracking — just like an iPhone. These are the recommended choice for in-field use.
iPad WiFi-only models do not have a GPS chip. They estimate location using nearby WiFi networks, which works well in populated areas but is unreliable in rural paddocks where few WiFi networks are visible. If you connect a WiFi-only iPad to your iPhone’s hotspot, the iPad only “sees” your iPhone’s hotspot network — it cannot scan the broader environment for location, so WiFi-based positioning will be very limited.
In summary:
Tip: Check your iPad model in Settings → General → About. If the model name includes “Cellular” or “WiFi + Cellular”, it has GPS. You can also check for a SIM card tray on the side of the device.
